KC Certificate(KC Mark)

What is KC?
KC mark is korean certification. All electronic product must be got KC certificate when they are sold in korea market.
There is two big KC certification for electric product.

1. KC ( EMC + RF ) certificate - RRA

•    Products for Certification 

           - Wireless phone alarm automatic receiver, marine radar station, telephone, modem, etc.

           - Information Equipment : Computers, Printer, Monitor, digital camera, MP3, etc

           - Industrial Equipment

           - Digital device using over 9KHz clock.

• Process

          - Normal process

               a. Contraction

               b. Sample/Technical documents receipt

               c. Sample testing

               d. Test report issue

               e. Issue KC certificate by RRA

          - Lead time

               a. only EMC product ( no RF function ) : 2 weeks

               b. RF + EMC(REMC) products ( RF function ) : 3 weeks

          - Preparation

               a. KC (EMC) certificate - for non wireless product

                   i) Documents

                        - Manual in korean

                   ii) Sample : minimum 1 completed sample

               b. KC (RF + EMC ) certificate - for wireless produc

                   i) Documents

                        - Manual in korean

                        - Schematic ( electronic circuit diagram ) : including RF module

                        - PCB layout : including RF module

                        - Label

                        - Antenna spec sheet (including antenna gain and pattern diagram)

                   ii) Sample : RF 1 sample + EMC 2 Sample + SAR 1 sample ( if SAR testing is needed )

                        - RF testing program and Test manual for RF testing

2. KC ( Safety ) certificate
 
   Products for Certification
           - using AC 220Voltage products.
           - Some DC products can be subjected.
         

• Process

          - Normal process

               a. Contraction

               b. Sample/Technical documents receipt

               c. Sample testing

               d. Test report issue

               e. Issue KC certificate by KC body

          - Lead time

               45 working days

          - Preparation

               a. KC certificate

                   i) Documents

                        - Manual in korean

                        - Schematic ( electronic circuit diagram )

                        - Critical components lists - components spec sheet or KC certificate of components.

                        - Label

    - Safety Certification Mark
    - Safety Certification Number or KCs Number
    - Product Name
    - Model
    - Rated Voltage
    - Manufacturer Name(In the case of foreign manufacturer, the Country of Origin shall be added)
    - Symbol for double-insulated equipment
    - Rated Time for short rated time
    - Marks indicating the time of manufacture(e.g. Date of Manufacture, Lot No. or the marks demonstrating the date of - manufacture)
    - Contact details for A/S Center
    - Marks and Precautions required by other individual safety standards
